The Provincial Commissioner is to get weekly or monthly updates when allegations were made against high-ranking SAPS officials.
“When these allegations were made against high-ranking officials within SAPS, the instruction was that the Provincial Commissioner is to get weekly or monthly updates.”
Four people above the panel level, not part of the panel, must certify that the process took place in accordance with the national instruction.

Mr Nku testifies that he did not instruct Chief Mashaba not to share information about the drugs with senior members of law enforcement, but warned him only to be careful to whom he disseminated information.

Maj-Gen Senona admitted he did not know the police stations and storage facilities where seized drugs must be booked into SAP 13s and that as DPCI head KZN he is not responsible for police stations—this is the Provincial Commissioner's responsibility.
“I know where they are, I can take you. But police stations, no. It is the Provincial Commissioner who is in charge of the police station, not me... I know nothing about police stations and such storage facilities”
There are periodic call-up instructions from the Provincial Commissioner during election periods where personnel are posted in different areas.

MAJ-GENSENONA confirms being part of the call-up instructions around the election period.

Colonel Jacob explains that at his rank, there is only so much he can do to escalate challenges about exhibit storage, as station commanders or district commissioners may not take his requests seriously unless made by his superior officers.

Brigadier Nkwashu states his actions regarding demand for Armand Swart docket were pursuant to lawful instruction from the Provincial Commissioner and he denies any improper conduct.
“I will...show that my actions were pursuant to lawful instruction from the Provincial Commissioner...There was no improper conduct on my part.”
Brigadier Nkhwashu never made a demand for the Armand Swart murder docket; he was acting on instruction to collect all dockets with J51s of arrest and submit them to Maj-Gen Mbuso Khumalo.

Instead, at the time, you were acting on instruction from the Provincial Commissioner to collect all dockets that had J51s of arrest and submit them to the Deputy Provincial Commissioner, Crime Detection, Maj-Gen Mbuso Khumalo”
The Provincial Commissioner made a follow-up on dockets and the docket list received on 14 April included the docket in question.

The Provincial Commissioner issued an internal correspondence to the five District Commissioners in Gauteng requesting a list of wanted suspects to be purified, including checking their status (on the run, arrested, other cases or deceased).

Clause 7.2.8 requires parties to operate in each other's jurisdiction only during planned operations with a prior operational plan submission for approval.

The taxi industry regularly has meetings with the road and transport policing general and sometimes with the Minister and provincial Commissioner to resolve issues together in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN).
