Brigadier N Kwashu was not aware at the time that the investigation officer (IO) had already submitted the warrant of arrest on 8 April, which is why he was still asking for the docket.
“I was not aware at that stage that the IO has already submitted this warrant of arrest, which is why I was saying to Commissioner Khumalo ... Little did I know that it has been submitted”
The Provincial Commissioner made a follow-up on dockets and the docket list received on 14 April included the docket in question.

The instruction received on 14 April was to provide only 12 dockets, suggesting 11 had already been submitted to the Province.

Colonel Grundling informed Witness B that the docket was being looked for, which led to Witness B calling Brigadier N Kwashu to ask about the docket.

Brigadier N Kwashu confirmed that after the call from Witness B explaining where the docket was, he asked Witness B not to send the docket to him.

Brigadier N Kwashu recalled that the docket related to Mr Molefe and the investigation into that case is ongoing by Organised Crime.
“there is an investigation ... on the case of Katiso Molefe ... investigated by the Organised Crime”
Brigadier N Kwashu was reminded by Witness B that the investigating officer is from Organised Crime, triggering his memory about the docket.
“having been reminded that the investigating officer is from Organised Crime ... my mind ran to that particular case”
