General Mkhwanazi has known about the links between Organised Crime and SAPS for many years, and took unlawful steps to deal with a senior police official involved in the penetration of Organised Crime into the criminal justice system.

Lt-General Shibiri shared information with Witness A, head of organised crime, about an ongoing investigation concerning the group of five and indicated that individuals are in a safe house and protected to pursue the investigation.

Entrapment is a common procedure in investigations of organised crime and Lt-Gen Shibiri claims experience dealing with it.

By the 17th of December, Mr Matlala was suing for missing items from one of the operations, launching an urgent application.
