Mr Matlala is currently facing charges of attempted murder and money laundering in High Court Johannesburg case SS 98/2025, arrested 14 May 2025 by PKT members, trial 20 July 2026 to 18 Sept 2026.

“I confirm that I am currently facing two separate pending matters... I have a pending case in the High Court of South Africa, Johannesburg, under the case number SS 98/2025. I was arrested and charged by members of the PKT on the 14th day of May 2025... charges of attempted murder and money laundering”

Mr Mogotsi confirms attempts to sow division between General Khumalo and General Mkhwanazi, to have members of the PKT arrested for the raid on Mr Matlala, to involve IPID in an arrest arising from the raid, and an attempt to persuade the Minister that General Sibiya and Discipline General Khumalo are involved in a Constitutional Court judgment matter (Makala case).

“So , we have talked about your attempt to sow division between General Khumalo and General Mkhwanazi , your attempt to have members of the PKT arrested for the raid on Mr Matlala , your attempt to get IPID involved in an arrest arising out of the raid on Mr Matlala 's house . ... Your fourth , the fourth instance is your attempt to persuade the Minister that he or General Sibiya and discipline General Khumalo arising out the Constitutional Court judgment in the Makala case .”

People were promised posts to get information against the General, and there was an attempt to remove him by a circle of people working together.

“People are given promised posts if they can get information against you.”

The task team appointed to investigate people mentioned in the Commission is constituted by members who worked at the PKT, led by General Khumalo who makes allegations against them, causing suspicion about neutrality.

“And when we learned what is the team constitution, is that it is constituted by members who worked at the PKT and the leader is still General Khumalo, who is one of the people making allegations against us.”

Lt-Gen Shibiri was not part of the component that was conducting the operation assisting Organised Crime at Mr Matlala's premises.

“But I do not see the component which I had here . Remember, this was a operation where the PKT was assisting, but it was Organised Crime .”
