Major General Feroz Khan

Mr Matlala states he has no relationship with Major General Khan, has never met him, had no interactions, and was never at any gatherings where he was present, and does not know him.

“I place on record that I do not have any relationship with Major General Khan. I have never met him and have had no interactions with him, nor have I been at any gatherings where he was present. It suffices to say that I do not know him.”

Chief Perumal provided telephone numbers including Feroz Khan who would shed more light on the Lushaba matter related to lost items reported to Khan.

“The numbers were provided by Chief Perumal. And Mr Feroz Khan was one of the people that was identified that he would shed more light about the topic that we were talking about ... it has something to do with the lost items that were reported to Khan.”

Advocate Johnson and General Feroz Khan maintained a close personal relationship, addressing each other affectionately and arranging private meetings.

“It is really two people who are friends and this relates to a favour to him. It has nothing to do with IDAC's work.”

General Feroz Khan entered the IDAC office via a VIP/side entrance without signing in at reception to conduct a personal visit with Advocate Johnson.

“you arrange for him not to sign in in the normal course but to come in via the VIP entrance and come directly to your office without going via reception.”

Advocate Johnson advised General Feroz Khan on workplace trust and potential plotting regarding workplace suspicions.

“For now, be smart about who you trust at work. Please do not say anything to anyone about you heard someone is out to get you because you could be talking to the culprit.”

Advocate Johnson and General Feroz Khan both maintain a close personal relationship with General Senthumule.

“one picks up from the chats that both of you have a very close relationship with General Senthumule.”

Brigadier Phetlhe lodged a complaint and opened a criminal case against General Feroz Khan for alleged assault.

“regarding the complaint lodged and criminal case opened by Brigadier Phetlhe against General Feroz Khan for an alleged assault.”

In 2018, General Jacobs informed Captain McLean and retired Colonel Roelofse about an incident involving Major General Feroz Khan and Advocate Andrea Johnson.

“We were approached by, actually, General Jacobs, who informed us about the Colonel, who had information regarding an incident that took place in 2018 relating to Major General Khan and Advocate Johnson.”

Colonel Roe Loofse gives context of a 2018 event involving Advocate Andrea Johnson and Major General Feroz Khan, stating previous efforts to uncover crime intelligence matters were frustrated by media pressure and interference.

“Commissioners, for context, may be I should just refer to our investigation in 2020 in terms of Crime Intelligence and the conduct that we experienced at the time, which included the using of the media to put pressure on us when we investigated this matter from Crime Intelligence. Major General Khan played a huge role in that... So that media report was then placed and there was a lot of fallout in respect of that... So I expect no less now than what we went through.”

In May 2022, in Crime Intelligence, a disclosure was made to Colonel Roe Loofse and Captain Mark McLean by a colonel and lieutenant colonel about an incident in 2018 involving Andrea Johnson and General Feroz Khan, deemed protected under the Protection Disclosure Act.

“Sometime in May 2022, a Colonel who was a captain at the time of the incident in 018, and a lieutenant Colonel when she approached us in 2022, in Crime Intelligence, approached Captain Mark McLean and me to make a disclosure which I deemed to be in terms of the Protection Disclosure Act of 26 of 2000. She informed us that in 2018, she shared an office with General Khan, who had been appointed as the Head of Operational Intelligence Support in September 2017...”

General Feroz Khan handed his cell phone to the colonel in 2018, asking her to give an email address of a person on the other end, later identified as Andrea Johnson.

“On 4 July 2018, while she was working in the office, General Khan, who was attending a meeting in the main boardroom, approached her, handed his cell phone to her and requested her to give an email address to the person on the other end of the phone. General Khan told the Colonel that the person on the other end was Andrea.”

The colonel complied by giving her personal email address to the caller on General Feroz Khan's phone, who said she would send an email whose contents must be given to Khan and then deleted.

“The female caller requested her personal email address and she complied. The Colonel told us that the female caller told her that she would send her an email and the contents of the email must be given to General Khan and thereafter, the Colonel must delete the email.”

The Colonel received an email with subject 'Petle Complaint' containing attachments including an audio file recording of General Khan and documents relating to a criminal complaint against General Khan by Brigadier Petle.

“The subject header of the email was Petle Complaint. The email had photo attachments and an audio file. The email contained photographs of the A1 statement of Brigadier Petle, at the time a Crime Intelligence officer, in a criminal complaint by her against General Khan for assault common, intimidation as well as a J88 medical report and an audio recording of General Khan taken at the time of the alleged incident. The alleged incident took place on 26 June 018 and the A1 was commissioned on the same day at Silverton police station and the case opened under Silverton CAS number 422/06/2018.”

The email from Andrea Johnson's Gmail was forwarded from Barry Bateman, a senior journalist, who sent the Petle complaint email with attachments on 3 July 2018. Colonel Roe Loofse printed and gave the envelope to General Khan but did not delete the email as requested.

“The email from Andrea Johnson's Gmail address to the Colonel's private email address was a forwarded email originating from Barry Bateman, who at the time was a senior journalist. Mr Bateman had sent the Petle complaint email with the attachment to Andrea Johnson's Gmail address on the 3rd of July 2018. The Colonel printed the email and attachments, placed them in an envelope and gave the envelope to General Khan. She did not delete the email as requested by the female caller.”

Mr Sayed sent questions to General Khan that were formulated to trap the Inspector General into lying about his relationship with convicted druglord Timmy Marimuthu, with a view to orchestrate his removal. The questions also mention the use of state intelligence resources to ensure Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma's election as ANC President.

“These questions ... Do you have a relationship with convicted draglord Timmy Marimuthu ... Have you had any discussions with convicted druglord Timmy Marimuthu regarding the supposed deal made by former President Jacob Zuma and Major General Feroz Khan ... to ensure the election of Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma as President of the ANC?”

The investigative work and submission by Mr Shongwe were prompted by the serious nature and gravity of allegations against General Feroz Khan.

“What prompted my submission were the serious nature and gravity of the allegations levelled against u General Khan.”

Mr Shongwe, alias Thulani, confirmed that the evidence he wishes to speak to relates to incidents following the questions he raised in the Ad Hoc Committee concerning allegations against Major General Feroz Khan.

“the evidence that you want to speak today is what followed, incidents that followed the questions that you raised in the Ad Hoc Committee.”

During the Ad Hoc Committee proceedings, Mr Shongwe raised many questions, particularly concerning allegations against Major General Feroz Khan.

“your raised questions, many questions during the sitting of the Ad Hoc Committee, but in particular and what is of relevance today is that you raised questions concerning allegations against Major General Feroz Khan.”

A police officer named Feroz Khan owns multiple franchises of lucrative businesses and remains in a leadership role despite allegations and lack of investigation.

“This police officer owns multiple franchises of businesses, lucrative businesses. This person remains in the leadership ... Feroz Khan. We cannot even get the name here in Parliament to get that person to come here and answer. Apparently, he is being covered up and protected, even by us.”

There is an allegation that Feroz Khan is protected and covered up by authorities, including the Parliament.

“Apparently, he is being covered up and protected, even by us. Now they say we are protecting him. We cannot get him here.”

Feroz Khan was not investigated, while Phahlane was targeted without evidence.

“Why did you not investigate Feroz Khan, but you went for Phahlane, whom you do not have a single evidence of what he has done.”

O'Sullivan alleges that South African Police management is aware of Khan's activities but has taken no action, implying complicity or negligence.

“Policemanagement know about this man Feroz Khan, but what is going to be done about it ?”

MR NKU states he was a source of information at the Aeroton scene and did not participate in operational decisions or searches, except when instructed by General Feroz Khan to step out of his vehicle.

“My presence at the scene was limited to that of a source of information / informant... I did not participate in any operational decisions, searches or handling of any items... except when instructed by police officials to step out namely General Feroz Khan.”

General Feroz Khan arrived at the scene, asked about the person filming and immediately instructed Captain Cronje that the person must be arrested and confiscated the filming person's phones.

“The gentleman introduced himself as General Feroz Khan... He immediately instructed for Captain Cronje to be called and that I must be arrested. He told me I must give my phones and step out of the car.”

The individual who gave Chief Mashaba information was filming with a phone and was arrested without a reason provided at the scene by General Feroz Khan, who ordered the arrest immediately.

“I told him that I was the source and that I was the one who gave Chief Mashaba the information. He immediately instructed for Captain Cronje to be called and that I must be arrested... No reason for my arrest was provided to me at the scene despite my enquiries.”

Warrant Officer Rikhotso from Crime Intelligence caused obstruction by questioning the authority or enquiry file permissions at the scene, distracting the team from their work, and mentioning Major General Feroz Khan was coming to the scene.

“Warrant Officer Rikhotso from Crime Intelligence ... started asking if we have any authority or any enquiry file registered ... was causing some obstruction and distraction ... specifically said Major General Feroz Khan from Crime Intelligence was coming to the scene ... so we ignored him and proceeded with our duties ... a lot of police members, security officers and civilian members at the scene made it difficult to work.”

There was a media report dated 22 February 2025 discussing a crime intelligence battle and key witnesses in Feroz Khan disciplinary to face drug charges.

“there is a media publication ... dated 22 February 2025 . . . Crime Intelligence Battle, Key Witnesses in Feroz Khan Disciplinary to Face Drug Charges . . . discusses what happened at the Aeroton scene and the four suspects that were arrested”

Three key witnesses confirmed they were approached by Lieutenant General Mkhwanazi to change their affidavits so that Major General Feroz Khan would be fired and dismissed from police on bogus and trumped up charges.

“It is confirmed by three key witnesses that they were approached by the appointed departmental Chairperson, KZN Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Mkhwanazi, to change their affidavits so that Major General Fe... dismissed from the police on bogus and trumped up charges.”
