Lieutenant-General Shibiri confirmed the existence of a group of five persons involved in mining interests in Rustenburg and Brits, with links to taxi operations and ownership of a fleet of taxis.

Lt-General Shibiri communicated information that Katso Molefe was linked to Mswazi and they were part of a group of five involved in mining interests.

The investigation into the group of five headed by General Lekalakala is ongoing, with other people already arrested, according to Lt-General Shibiri.

Lt-Gen Shibiri fears mentioning names linked to a group of five individuals and requested that certain recordings not be played publicly for safety reasons, though he ultimately accepted the consequences of these names being revealed.

“Actually, I did not want anybody to be mentioned ... my prayer did not get through ... I did not want any name to be mentioned for that matter ... I do not want this recording to be played ... but my prayers were not met, so I will live with the consequences.”
