The police officer contacted by a person after the theft activated Crime Intelligence due to recognizing General Lushaba's wallet as belonging to a member of Crime Intelligence; this supports no cover-up allegation in the docket.

It can be because there is a statement in that docket from a police officer, a neutral police officer, who says that morning following the theft, Lushaba's place, he was contacted by a person, he named that person in the statement. This person says I picked up some items to the garage and because he knows the police officer is staying nearby, he took those items to the police officer and the police, this police officer activated Crime Intelligence because he could see from the card that this is a member's wallet and this member appears to be a member of CI. And the items were then taken to the police station ... And that is how, about a cover-up, there is nothing in the docket about that.

Lieutenant General Shibiri had not been personally offered a bribe in the murder matter, but cited a case of a prosecutor offered a bribe of 100,000 who remains under witness protection and police arrested the people involved.

No, I was not offered personal. But there is a case which I cited of a prosecutor. Where a police officer is still under witness protection for the past four years. Where he was offered a bribe of 100000. And the prosecutor and those other police were arrested or other people.

There are direct and covert ways of bribery; direct involves knowing and trusting the person, promising money to lose a docket; covert involves cultivating trust over time and then suggesting a bribe is available.

If you know the person, you trust the person... So, you will say to them, listen, so and so told me that there is R1000 available for you if you just lose the docket. That is direct... You can have indirect, like, is that not covert? A covert operation where you endear yourself with the person, showing interest in their safety, showing interest in what is happening with them, and then at some points say there is an informer that told me that there is a bribe available.
