Mr O'Sullivan was a lecturer at the Police Training Centre and simultaneously conducted policing at the airport via a reservist unit he helped form, including members speaking different languages to impact crime at the airport.

“I was also carrying out policing at the airport in the Border Police . So there was a reservist unit at the airport which I helped form , which comprised of about 35 volunteer members , and I selected people that spoke different languages so that we could have some impact on the crimes that were taking place at the airport . There was a theft incident on 5 May involving 150,000 USD and 4 million in cash stolen from passengers' bags at the airport, with a check-in person named Ayanda involved.

“On the 5th of May on the night flight at 2:20 p.m. a 150k USD was stolen from a client's bag. Ayanda checked him in ... and also 4 million in cash was also stolen from two bags from another passenger.”

Chief Mashaba was asked to assist police with recovering money stolen at the airport involving persons known to Mr Nku, including Gauza.

“I wanted Mashego to assist Nku about maybe recovering whatever that was lost at the airport because they were working there, or they are still working there. I do not know.”

There is a suggestion that stolen goods, possibly gold or platinum, were involved at the airport and Nku needed help recovering them, involving persons named Gauza and others.

“Nku had a problem ... I cannot remember if it was gold or platinum ... they stole it from the airport ... Nku needed assistance that, can you please get me Gauza's numbers so that I meet with him?”
