Gauza

Chief Mashaba met with Gauza once at his house; did not meet with Mvinjelwa; met with Mosa alone; and discussed different issues with Gauza and Twala separately.

“I met with Gauza at his house alone . I met with Mosa alone , not with Gauza . This Mvinjelwa I do not remember .”

Chief Mashaba wanted Gauza to assist or meet with somebody regarding a case that Gauza was uniquely capable to assist with.

“I wanted him to assist , I wanted him to assist or I wanted him to meet with somebody regarding the case that that person said Gauza is the only one that can assist .”

Chief Mashaba claims he has not spoken to Gauza for more than five years and never met or talked to him about operations involving Giyani, despite WhatsApp messages suggesting otherwise.

“I have never met , I have never spoken to Gauza. I am sure it is more than five years not talking to Gauza.”

Chief Mashaba was asked to assist police with recovering money stolen at the airport involving persons known to Mr Nku, including Gauza.

“I wanted Mashego to assist Nku about maybe recovering whatever that was lost at the airport because they were working there, or they are still working there. I do not know.”

There is a suggestion that stolen goods, possibly gold or platinum, were involved at the airport and Nku needed help recovering them, involving persons named Gauza and others.

“Nku had a problem ... I cannot remember if it was gold or platinum ... they stole it from the airport ... Nku needed assistance that, can you please get me Gauza's numbers so that I meet with him?”

Chief Mashaba was introducing Mr Nku to Gauza and others at OR Tambo Airport for assistance regarding stolen dollars at the airport.

“I think it was maybe introducing him to Gauza and them ... For him because he needed assistance. There is dollars that got stolen at the airport.”
