After leaving the police, Mr O'Sullivan formed a charity called Forensics for Justice focused on fighting corruption within the criminal justice system, financed by himself.

Mr. O'Sullivan received a tip-off through Forensics for Justice concerning allegations that a person is involved in facilitating drug trafficking with Nafiz Modack, involved in chop shops, money laundering for criminals, protecting certain criminals including close friend of ex-Deputy National Commissioner Vineshkumar Moonoo, and lacking security clearance due to covert criminal activities and questionable business activities.

A campaign over several years targeted Mr O’Sullivan, Forensics for Justice, and his staff involving about 30 police officials under General Mokotedi.
“Mokotedi was the senior person who led the group of about 30 police officials who targeted me and Forensics for Justice and the staff that worked for me. So as you will see, there was a campaign over several years against us”
Mr O'Sullivan alleges that a person was parachuted into a position, bypassing all procedures in the recruitment process without regard to cost.
“The information I received was that she was parachuted in, which is an expression meaning bypass all the procedures, appoint her at any cost.”
