On the same day (29 May 2019) the person referred to as 'he is back' would only have been back in the country if it was the uncle, not DD Mabuza who was back to his official position.
“And what did he ... it takes us back to him. Have he been outside of the country? And coincidentally now he is back on the 29th back in the country ... what you say does not make sense ... what makes sense is that you are referring to Deputy President Mabuza ...”
Chief Mashaba suggests that the referenced uncle may have had involvement in his dealings and that the uncle may assist in his business or for career growth.
“The issues that this uncle maybe would assist as an uncle maybe would be in his business ... But to my benefit, it would mean maybe I will use it at my advantage maybe for a growth career-wise ...”
Chief Mashaba admits that his uncle was involved in assisting Mr Nku in his businesses.

Chief Mashaba acknowledges that working with Mr Maphatsoe (uncle) benefits his career growth and progression.
“I would have say how, but … When I say career-wise, obviously I would mean growing at work. … Maybe here I would mean a position maybe. With that, yes.”
The lobola negotiations involved other family members beyond just Brigadier Nkwashu and his wife’s family unit, including an uncle who does not stay with them.
“There is an uncle who is not staying with us...there were others.”
