The allegations in the whistleblower's email of 5 February 2024 were serious, including collusion with a drug syndicate, and were the reason for moving the individual.
“the allegations were more serious than that. It was that he was colluding with the drug syndicate. That was the allegations. That is what resulted in him being moved, according to you”
General Flynn wished to meet or interview the whistleblower about the drug theft, but the relevant member who was in touch with the whistleblower engaged with Flynn alone and did not take his team to interview the individual; the investigating officer was shocked by Flynn's evidence before the Commission as it suggested drugs were placed to be stolen by corrupt members.
“General Flynn wished to meet or interview this whistleblower/informer/suspect. I immediately called in the relevant member who was in touch with the whistleblower to engage with General Flynn and I left the office. I later heard that General Flynn had sent out a team to interview this individual. From what I understand, he did not go out with his team to interview this individual who had vital information on the theft... I was left in total shock upon viewing General Flynn's evidence before this Commission... It is understandable that all of us that were involved in the seizure would have initially been viewed as suspects.”
A whistleblower at the DPCI was victimised immediately after reporting complaints and subsequently moved to a different environment still within DPCI but another part of the province.
“The whistle blower got victimised straight away. The whistle blower has since moved to a totally different environment, but still within the DPCI, but in a different part of the province now”
