Brigadier Mbatha

General Senona felt Brigadiers Mbatha and Kgama were undermining him and that the speaker was the more respectful of the three brigadiers, possibly due to the speaker's respect for him and the other two being shortlisted for the provincial head post.

Major General Senona was appointed as Provincial Head of the DPCI in KwaZulu-Natal around August 2020, succeeding Major General Zikhali who took early retirement; Brigadier Mbatha acted in the interim.

“Before Major General Senona joined as the Provincial Head, Major General Zikhali was the Provincial Head of the DPCI in KZN. The latter took early retirement. Brigadier Mbatha acted for a few months until Major General Senona was appointed around August 2020.”
