The complaints about Brigadier Mokwele's appointment, including allegations of no policing experience for a Brigadier, were also laid by a Member of Parliament and others.

I do not believe I was the only person that laid a complaint. I believe a member of Parliament also laid a complaint ... unsubstantiated complaint that someone with no policing experience had been appointed as a Brigadier

Mr Mogotsi states that the person assaulted in the raid and whose wife was assaulted had a case opened for them by his co-handler, not Mr Mogotsi himself.

If like this member of Parliament when he came to Soweto, I was not part of that. I did not know how that happened. But if I also referred him to someone would that means my job is to help people open cases.

L T - General Shibiri does not know much about the association between Sergeant Nkosi and Mr Motsumi but believes they know each other and that prominent people often escalate police matters through high-level political contacts instead of police stations.

I do not know really, but it seems they know each other...prominent people, they do not like going down to the police station. They start there on the top. They will phone their member of parliament from their constituency, who will phone the Minister...
