On 8 November 2021, after discovering the trashed office and missing exhibits, LT-COL Prinsloo walked back and discovered entry to Pienaar's office was gained by forcing open an aluminium window and removing burglar bars and forcing open wooden office door, with pictures taken of the scene.

“I walked back to Warrant Officer Pienaar's office and saw that entry into his office was gained by forcing open the aluminium window and the complete removal of the burglar bars from the wall and they then forced open his wooden office door. I attach her to pictures taken on the day showing the exterior and interior of the office.”

Using a grinder on the burglar bars would make a lot of noise not easily heard outside, especially during weekends.

“If you use a grinder, for example, for these burglar bars, it would make a lot of noise, is it not? On the outside, ja. It will be much quieter on the inside for them, then you will not hear it so easily on the outside... and obviously, it must have been, well, it would have been over a weekend, no one would hear anything.”

Noise from cutting burglar bars with grinder is quieter inside, so outside wouldn't notice it easily.
