exhibits consignment of cocaine

On 11 October 2021, there was an attempted break-in at a building housing a consignment of cocaine worth at least R200,000,000, but security was not increased nor was the consignment removed despite the risk.

“The 11 October 2021 break-in happens, you are responsible for the building ... There is an attempted break-in and you know that you have exhibits that are worth at least R200000000. What steps do you take to increase security or to say, I cannot keep this thing here, it is not safe in my office?...I did not do that, Commissioner.”
