The person described as Mr Mogotsi's co-handler denies that Warrant Officer Mabizela was his handler, stating it was Warrant Officer Mabuza.
“The man who you describe as your co-handler was adamant that you were never handled by Warrant Officer Mabizela, only by Warrant Officer Mabuza.”
The co-handler said he played a minor supervisory role relative to Warrant Officer Mabuza and not as co-handler.
“He said he just played a supervisory role in relation to Warrant Officer, a minor supervisory role in relation to Warrant Officer Mabuza.”
The primary supervisory role relating to Warrant Officer Mabuza was played by Colonel Duma, later promoted to Brigadier Duma.
“He said the primary supervisory role in relation to Warrant Officer Mabuza was played by a Colonel Duma who was later promoted to Brigadier Duma.”
Colonel Duma was involved as the supervisor of Warrant Officer Mabuza from the very first meeting with Mr Mogotsi's co-handler.
“Colonel Duma was involved as the supervisor of your handler, Warrant Officer Mabuza, right from your first alleged meeting with the man you describe as your co-handler.”
Mr Mogotsi says Mabuzela and Mabuza are almost the same name and refer to one person, but he refuses to implicate himself.
“Mabuza and Mabuzela is almost the same name. It is, they refer to one person, but let me not implicate myself.”
Mr Mogotsi's co-handler introduced him with Colonel Duma, Warrant Officer, and Warrant Officer Mabuza to General Sibiya.
“The person who was your co-handler said he introduced you with Colonel Duma, Warrant Officer, and Warrant Officer Mabuza to General Sibiya.”
Warrant Officer Mabuza is deceased and Mr Mogotsi confirms this.
“Warrant Officer Mabuza is dead. It is true. May his soul rest in peace.”
All of the people named by Mr Mogotsi as involved in his Crime Intelligence operations are deceased.
“All of them, but let me not incriminate myself, Chair.”
Adv Chaskalson states that Warrant Officer Mabizela was not killed but imprisoned and that Warrant Officer Mabuzza is still alive and active in Crime Intelligence.
“Warrant Officer Mabizela was not killed. Warrant Officer Mabizela was imprisoned. ... The only Warrant Officer Mabizela in Crime Intelligence ... You did not give us the name of Warrant Officer Mabuza so we could not investigate.”
Mr Mogotsi said the request to open the docket came directly from him, not from the handler Mabizela or Mabuza, though he may have called both.
“your co-handler said that the request came straight from you, not from Mabizela or Mabuza, the request to open a docket for this person.”
