Handler

The handler is responsible for managing informants professionally and must avoid unacceptable conduct such as socializing, romantic involvement, borrowing money, or paying informants without a witness.

Information from sources is reported to a handler who compiles intelligence reports and submits them to the commander for approval.

Mr Mogotsi had a handler who knew when he was talking to General Mkhwanazi and was aware he would relay certain information.

Mr Mogotsi denies that his handler knew he would lie to General Mkhwanazi about General Khumalo meeting with the complainant to set him up and defeat an ends case against him.

Mr Mogotsi does not know if his handler and co-handler reported to General Sibiya.
