Brigadier Nkhwashu admits that, by virtue of his rank and position, he uses his connections to call an Area Commissioner, which ordinary people cannot do.

Brigadier Nkhwashu acknowledges that Mr Molefe was remanded to Groenpunt Prison after appearing in Vereeniging Court on 9 December and denies informing Mr Khaliphi that Molefe was arrested at the airport that day.
“he was remanded to his prison after the appearance in Vereeniging Court on the 9th... I could not have called and told the Area Commissioner that this brother-in-law of mine is arrested in the airport... I knew that he was arrested on the 6th”
