Brigadier Nkhwashu told prison officials that Mr Molefe was arrested at the airport and was not in possession of clothes or food, and therefore wanted to see the suspect.

“The Brigadier allegedly informed the prison officials that the accused, Mr Molefe, was arrested at the airport and was therefore not in possession of any clothes or food. He therefore wanted to see the suspect.”

Brigadier Nkhwashu arrived at the prison after visiting hours driving a white BMW SUV with no number plate, which alarmed prison officials because if he were attending in his official capacity, the vehicle registration plates should not have been removed.

“Prison officials further advised that Brigadier Nkhwashu had arrived at the facility after visiting hours driving a white BMW SUV that had no number plate. This was alarming to them because if Brigadier Nkhwashu was attending in his official capacity they questioned the removal of the vehicle registration plates.”
