Warrant Officer Mahlaba

Witness was directed to go to a meeting at the Houghton Hotel accompanied by Warrant Officer Mahlaba, who works under the witness at TOMS, for assistance with a state vehicle.

“I went to the meeting venue with Warrant Officer Mahlaba who works under me at TOMS. And taking Warrant Officer Mahlaba with me was in respect of assistance with state vehicle, as I was not in position of any state vehicle and he was, but Warrant Officer Mahlaba stayed in the car when we got to the hotel.”

The proposed bribery involving a bag was never reported as it would have reached the ears of targeted people and reporting would have been done post arrest to avoid obstruction from seniors. The bribe never materialized and there was no further discussion about it.

“The above was never reported as it would get to ears of the targeted people and reporting would have been done after arrest to evade blocking or obstruction from seniors. They never brought the bag and never had any further discussion about the bag.”
