Complaints from Chief Mashaba, Warrant Officer Phakula, and Warrant Officer Magane were lodged at IPID National Office on 2021-10-13 accusing police officers of defeating the ends of justice; these complaints were registered at Booysens Police Station as Booysens CAS 252/10/2021.

“On 2021-0-13, the complainants, that is, Chief Mashaba, Warrant Officer Phakula, and Warrant Officer Magane, came to IPID National Office to lodge a complaint of defeating the ends of justice. The complainants were interviewed by the members of NSIT, and I was part of the interview. ... The case was opened at Booysens Police Station and registered as Booysens CAS 252/10/2021”

Phakula did not call the Booysens Police Station to prepare them since the bakkie was already on the crime scene.

The drugs and suspect were planned to be booked at Booysens Police Station, not Alberton, because the drugs were found in Aeroton, the scene of the crime.

“The drugs were going to be booked at Booysens. And the suspect was going to be booked at Booysens.”

Warrant Officer Magane did not report or announce the presence of the drugs or themselves to Booysens Police Station, which caused Booysens to be unaware of the drugs and their presence.

“You did not report yourselves to Booysens Police Station... Booysens does not know you are around. Booysens does not know that you have got this amount of drugs.”
