Sean Ian Edward Eugene Bolhuis

Sean Ian Edward Eugene Bolhuis is the Deputy Chief of Police for Training and Innovation in the City of Tshwane Metropolitan Police Department (TMPD) starting 1 June 2024, recommended by the Chief of Police and other senior city officials.

“I am an adult male South African citizen and the Deputy Chief of Police for Training and Innovation in the City of Tshwane Metropolitan Police Department, which is known as TMPD. Having assumed this role on 1 June 2024, I was recommended by a panel consisting of the Chief of Police and other senior city officials.”

Sean Bolhuis has 34 years of experience in municipal policing since 1992, started as a traffic officer in Pretoria Municipality, and has educational qualifications including a three-year national diploma and an ITO 4 higher diploma.

“I am a career traffic officer / Metro Police officer since 1992. I started my career as a traffic officer in the then Pretoria Municipality. ... In total, I have 34 years of experience in the municipality. I have a career-related ITO three-year national diploma and an ITO 4 higher diploma.”

Sean Bolhuis holds a valid top-secret security clearance certificate expiring December 2026 and is currently undergoing the vetting process again.

“I have a valid top-secret security clearance certificate, which will expire in December 2026. I am in the process of starting the vetting process again.”

Senior management of the Metro Police should be vetted; Sean Bolhuis immediately avails himself for vetting as required in his position dealing with sensitive information.

“In the Metro Police itself, I am a deputy Chief of Police. It is imperative that your senior management of the Metro Police should be, must be vetted. If I had a way to force it through, I would, as I am also the chief of staff, which I will explain later. But it is cumbersome for me to think, and I will not mention names, that certain senior officials refuse to get themselves vetted. I immediately avail myself for vetting because it is required of me in my position when I deal with sensitive information.”
