The seizure of drugs on 22 June 2021 was never under suspicion until they were stolen; Colonel Jacob denied involvement in the decision to store the drugs at Port Shepstone Serious Organised Crime Investigation or knowledge the location was unsuitable, stating he followed a lawful instruction from Brigadier Nyuswa.
