The application for enhanced security at Port Shepstone is still incomplete and was delayed by lack of financing, but security guards are being appointed and CCTV and biometric entrances are being planned.

“even now we are still in limbo on that...It was not financed because the head office of DPCI Finances said there was no money...And what has happened, the acting National Head advertised the post for security guards for the same office and interviews have been conducted. Those people might be appointed in July or August this year...while we are also doing the CCTV and biometric entrance to the office, which might take some time.”
