Mr Vusi Cat Matlala was an informer who assisted TO MS with tip-offs regarding several successful operations leading to permanent arrests of dangerous suspects including Sikhumbo Dlamini and James Nkoana aka John Wick.
“I know Mr Vusi Cat Matlala as he was an informer that assisted TO MS with tip-offs regarding several successful operations. ... resulted in the permanent arrest of mostly wanted, feared and dangerous suspects, Sikhumbuzo Dlamini and James Nkoana AKA John Wick.”
During August 2024, TO MS arrested 17 suspects and seized 32 firearms at Sun City, but Lieutenant Colonel Gkekoane and Lieutenant General Mboto interfered attempting to declare suspects as security and firearms as legally owned.
“On 6 August 024, TO MS unit arrested 17 suspects and seized 32 firearms. ... Lieutenant Colonel Gkekoane informed me he is there as per instruction of Lieutenant General Mboto. ... Due to lack of space at Sun City Police Station, the suspects were detained at Rustenburg Police Station. ... I informed General Mboto that it was a lie as the security found at the scene was tight security ... The 17 suspects arrested were in civilian clothing and there were no registered permits and licenses to possess firearms for all 32 firearms seized. General Mboto was insisting firearms belonged to security company and are legal. That was his final stance on the phone.”
Information available to TO MS indicated that the 17 arrested suspects were hit men hired and working for an unidentified individual at Sun City.
