SAPS Maydon Wharf

Captain Stephan Albert Moolman was the exhibit clerk serving at SAPS Maydon Wharf from July 2014 to December 2024 responsible for receiving, safeguarding and releasing exhibits within the Durban Harbour Police area.

“From July 2014 to December 2024, I was the exhibit clerk serving in the SAPS 13 exhibit room at SAPS Maydon Wharf ... My duties entail the receiving, safeguarding, and releasing of exhibits at the SAPS Maydon Wharf ... seized or found ... within the Durban Harbour Police area must be handed in as exhibits at the Maydon Wharf Police Station”

Between 8 May 2020 and 2 December 2024, six seizures were stored at SAPS Maydon Wharf, including a 32 kg cocaine seizure on 8 May 2020 and a 999 kg cocaine seizure on 30 July 2021.

“Now, paragraph 4 lists six records six seizures that were stored at SAPS Maydon Wharf from 8 May 2020 ... until the 2nd of December 2024 ... 32 kilograms of Cocaine received on the 8th of May 2020 ... 999 kg Cocaine received on 30 July 2021”

Colonel Jacob incorrectly assumed that after a 32 kg seizure on 8 May 2020, subsequent large seizures like 999 kg on 30 July 2021 could not be accommodated at Maydon Wharf, which is disproved by storage records.

“your seizure actually occurred before the 30 July 2021 seizure ... your assumption was wholly wrong, because six weeks after your seizure, he could accommodate 999 kg ... I did not enquire ... I drew an assumption”
