Due to a break-in in October, Brigadier Nyuswatha agreed that the section 212 affidavit must be speedily finalized by investigators including Colonel Jacob as the investigating officer.

The speaker denies failing to transfer exhibits to the Forensic Laboratory (FSL), stating his involvement was limited to being present at discovery and that the responsibility for submission lies clearly with the investigating officer.
“I deny this allegation. My involvement with the exhibit non-existent beyond being present at their discovery. The responsibility for the submission of the exhibit to the FSL is clearly delineated in the National Instruction.”
Warrant Officer Phakula organised role players for the crime scene based on Warrant Officer Magane's request to call the Forensic Laboratory for backup.
“Initially when I phoned the Forensic Lab, I was of the opinion that they still come to the crime scene and package everything... when he phoned me to say he want backup, so I understood he wants to arrange every role player for that scene.”
