The Investigating Officer at the time of clarification was Captain Mashau, who required clarity on the disputed storage space issue.

The statement by the depot person was taken by Mashau, not Colonel Jacob, and seems to have been influenced by someone reaching out to this person to include the 1 July visit in a new statement, creating problems for the credibility of that addition.
