Hartebeespoort Dam

Sergeant Nkosi initially stated he found the card on his way back from collecting the jet ski from Mr Matlala's farm, but later changed his version to saying he found it at Hartebeespoort Dam, leading to contradictory evidence about the discovery circumstances of the card.

“I found it on my way back to collect the jet ski ... from Mr Matlala's farm ... you immediately changed your version and then you said, actually I found it at Hartebeespoort Dam ... there are a whole range of issues on which you have given fundamentally contradictory evidence in relation to this card.”

Sergeant Nkosi found a credit card belonging to Mr Matlala’s company 'Luxo African Brand Investments' in the jet ski on 23 December 2024 at Hartebeespoort Dam, which he found while searching for the key in the glove compartment.

“on the 23rd day of December, you found that Mr Matlala left a Luxo African Brand Investments business gold card in the jet ski boat of Mr Msibi ... I was in the dam ... Hartebeespoort dam ... when I arrived in Hartebeespoort, searching for the key in the compartment, it is when I realized there is a card there.”

Sergeant Nkosi found the credit card in the glove compartment of the jet ski only when he arrived at Hartebeespoort Dam searching for the key to collect the jet ski.

“how did you find that there was a credit card inside the jet ski's glove compartment? It was when I arrived in Hartebeespoort, searching for the key in the compartment, it is when I realized there is a card there.”

Sergeant Nkosi did not have Mr Matlala with him when he found the card at Hartebeespoort Dam and had never before taken the jet ski to Hartebeespoort between September and 23 December 2024.

“And was Mr Matlala with you at Hartebeespoort? No, not that day. Had you taken the jet ski to Hartebeespoort previously, between September and 23 December? No.”
