Director Pompia

Advocate Segeels-Ncube alleges that Chief Mashaba engaged in a side hustle operation with Mr Nku and only informed superiors like General Khan when under pressure, implying intentional concealment of his actions.

“Chief, I am going to suggest that you did not tell Director Pompia about your discovery because you were not on a legitimate operation. It was your side hustle with Mr Nku. That is why you did not say anything. You only involve people when you are now in a bind because you have been arrested, because you are being bullied by General Khan.”

Chief Mashaba denies having control over whether he informed Director Pompia and seems to accept the statement as is, but Chairperson challenges this denial noting he had control to inform his superiors.

“Well, you are telling me I do not have control over that. I will just accept what you are telling me. ...No, you did have control over telling your superior what you were doing. You cannot hide behind what you have just said. Nothing stopped you from telling him.”
