According to Advocate Mpofu, the letter from General Senona's attorneys seeks postponement of the statement filing on grounds that other witnesses have yet to testify and their statements need to be seen first.

A letter sent by the accused's attorneys in May 2025 to follow up on alleged re-enrolment was never responded to.

The letter from the accused's attorneys speaks of a provisional withdrawal awaiting the decision of the National Prosecuting Service in 2024, and does not mention a final withdrawal in 2022.
