Mr Floweday

There was confusion about the dates of the inspection activity: The person was not present on 22 June; evidence shows no agent was there that day; there was no Customs official present at the depot on 22 June; the individual says he was only there on 24 June.

“Mr Floweday was not there ... you have told us the depot, ORS, and your people, depot people, and the person that you thought was Customs, and we have cleared there was no Customs there ... this is a further statement on the first one that says I was not there on the 22nd ... He says on the 24th”

Colonel Jacob knew the authorised person for the container was Mr Floweday of Megafreight by 1 July 2021 and obtained a statement from him.

“You knew it was Mr Floweday of Megafreight. - Yes. ... You obtained a statement from Mr Floweday of Megafreight.”

Mr Floweday of Megafreight stated in his 2025 handwritten statement that he was not informed of the container inspection on 22 June 2021 and only received instruction to attend inspection on 23 June 2021.

“He states that he was not informed. ... In this matter, I was not informed of the container inspection on the 22nd of June 021. Only received the instruction to attend inspection on 23rd day of June 2021.”

Megafreight's Floweday's statement says under no circumstances may officials break the container seal without the presence of the client owner of the shipment and that an inspection report must be completed and the container resealed.

“Under no circumstances the officials will break the container seal without me being present, as I will be representing the client who is the owner of the shipment in the container. After then it is opened and inspected, the container will be resealed with a new seal. I, Floweday, will then prepare the inspection report and invoice the clearing agent.”
