Mohammed Baba

Mr Nku confirms that the silver grey BMW he was driving was registered in the name of Mohammed Baba, with an agreement that he (Nku) would purchase it and pay in installments, with Baba initially supposed to buy the car but lacking funds.

“If further confirm that the silver grey BMW series which I was driving at the scene... was registered under the name of one Mohammed Baba. My agreement was that I by would purchase the vehicle on my behalf and I would pay in instalments until final payment.”

Mohammed Baba is described as a dealer-stalker with cheaper prices allowing him to buy cars at much less than the book value, and he lacked funds to buy the vehicle himself, leading to an arrangement involving Mr Iby to facilitate the purchase.

“Baba, initially he was to purchase the car for me. But then because he did not, he is a dealer-stalker, so he did not have the funds... we then agreed that we would approach Iby to make the purchase...”

The car was brand new, bought as a BMW, with payment and sale arrangements between Baba and Iby, and Mr Nku being the ultimate beneficiary but not the direct purchaser.

“It is a brand-new vehicle from what I understood... the sale agreement for this motor vehicle was between Baba and Iby... I was the ultimate beneficiary... payment arrangement was between the two of them.”

Mr Nku explains that Baba and Iby had a longer relationship than him with each other, so Baba acted as a common trusted party in the vehicle purchase transaction with Iby on behalf of Mr Nku.

“Chair, one of the reasons would have been as half, that is why I, the how parts were actually directed to the why part and that is because Mr Baba and Mr Iby had a much longer relationship than I do and Mr Baba had a much longer relationship as opposed to myself and Iby... Mr Baba becomes a common trusted source or trusted party between the two of us in terms of vouching that okay, even if this man does not come good on his promise, I will sort it out, because we have got a much longer history in terms of car sales between myself and Mr Baba.”
