Mr Nku's interest in following up information that led to the Aeroton drug bust was motivated by the successful outcomes and expected rewards for providing executable information from confidential sources.

“my interest in following up the information that ultimately led to the Aeroton drug bust was no different. ... my motivations remained consistent with a confidential source who expected to be rewarded for giving executable information which led to a successful discovery, as I have in the past been compensated for providing information.”

Mr Nku clarifies that he has been compensated in the past for providing crucial information to intelligence agencies, not just law enforcement agencies.

“‘as I have in the past been compensated for providing crucial information to intelligence agencies’, not law enforcement, to intelligence agencies ... It is two intelligence agencies.”

Mr Nku did not mention working for the intelligence agencies in his first statement but mentioned it for the first time in his supplementary statement, describing his work providing cyber intelligence support to law enforcement.

“In your first statement , there is no mention that you work for the intelligence agencies . ... And then in your second statement , being your supplementary statement , that is when you describe yourself as having worked with intelligence agencies and provided cyber intelligence support to law enforcement .”
