FSL is not ordinarily called to scenes because it is not a clan lab, but is called when there are strange chemicals and requires collaboration with SARS lab (LCRC).

“Ordinarily FSL would not have come to the scene because it is not a clan lab ... but when we have strange chemicals ... we work together ... I have got a relationship with them.”

The correct procedure for recovery of chemical substances at scenes is to call the LCRC first, but FSL can also be called if necessary.

“For a recovery ... as standard recovery we call out LCRC, not FSL ... if it is chemicals and items I do not know and I need guidance with, I will tell them such ... you can call either one first ... but preferably LCRC.”
