Lieutenant Colonel Ludick

Brigadier Sekgobela was present at the drug bust crime scene and gave an account of her involvement, which was considered by Assistant Director Maphosho who questioned recommending her prosecution.

“She got to the scene, the kind of things that she did. Why do you recommend her prosecution? And her statement, it is at page 120 of your file. ... She explains what she did. ... She says it was evident the crime scene was not handled properly.”

The call to attend the drug dealings complaint in Aeroton was from then Lieutenant Colonel Ludick.

“Lieutenant Colonel Ludick, back then.”

Colonel Ludick arrived immediately after dropping his phone with General Kadwa and Brigadier Lewela; they arrived together but were requested not to be near the scene.

“Colonel Ludick then arrived immediately after he dropped his phone with General Kadwa and Brigadier Lewela. Then I approached Colonel Ludick. We were then joined by Colonel Kekana ... They arrive together, but after having arrived, because already at that time, they were requested the people not to be nearer the scene.”

Lieutenant Colonel Sebola informed Colonel Ludick that something sinister was happening involving members who were not assisting in arresting the suspect.

We have not yet cordoned the scene . I am informing him something wrong is happening . Our members are involved in other things that is not aimed at assisting us to arrest the suspect”

Lieutenant Colonel Sebola suspected that members about to leave were defeating the end of justice.

“... I can conclude by saying , by leaving that area , Colonel Ludick , these people , they are defeating the end of justice . We are not going to get whatever we wanted to”

Lieutenant Colonel Sebola was assigned as investigating officer by Colonel Ludick following the briefing.

“The assume that the briefing ended and you were then assigned by Colonel Ludick as the investigating officer , is that correct ? ... That is correct”

Lt-Col Sebola says General Kadwa was at the scene and he entered with Brigadier Lewela and Colonel Ludick.

“General Kadwa was at the scene. He entered the scene with Brigadier Lewela, Colonel Ludick.”

Warrant Officer Phakula attempted to remove duplicate seals from the scene for photographing but was stopped by Sergeant Ludick.

“My concern, Warrant Officer, is when you then attempted to remove what they call the duplicate seal and then that is when you are stopped by, I Sergeant Ludick. Can you explain that a bit more?”

Lieutenant Colonel Ludick delegated the scene management to Captain Sebola in Colonel Steyn's absence because they make turns who is the next investigating officer, and it coincided that time with Captain Sebola.

“he was not an investigating officer. We sort of make turns on who is then next investigating officer. And this time the coin fell with Captain Sebola at the time.”
