Komisa Maphatsoe

Mr Nku shared the information with both General Mfazi and Komisa Maphatsoe via a conduit and did not disclose his source to them.

“I share with both ... Because I was introduced to him by Komisa Maphatsoe ... My communication with him could not be more direct ... Because I know him through a conduit ... Mr Nku stated he and Komisa Maphatsoe are not blood relatives but distant relatives known through political affiliations; he denied that Komisa Maphatsoe is his uncle as claimed in previous testimony.

“I would say we are not blood related. We, on one ... we are distant relatives ... So it would be inaccurate to say that he is your uncle ... He is not my blood uncle ... He was someone that I was close to, but he was not my uncle ... I know him from elsewhere, from political affiliations ... You refer to him as Komisa Maphatsoe ... That sounds more like a comrade than a relative.”

Mr Nku never disclosed his source to Komisa Maphatsoe or General Mfazi and the recipients acted on second-hand information from him.
